Last week I gave you a few "uneducated" views on Artificial Intelligence. This week I'm following up with a bit more education on the matter. I also have a new found respect for content creators!
Putting Out Weekly Compelling Content Is NOT Easy!
As you know up until recently I put out very few "blurbs"... However, this is the new millennium and I've realized that if you do not do something on a regular basis with your website, and social media, nobody will know you even exist.
This has been difficult for me! I'm not one to toot my own horn. However if you don't do something, Google and Facebook simply shadow ban you, no matter how cool you are! Their algorithms scan the web and only reward those that regularly post something. Have you any idea how hard it is to come up with some groundbreaking revelation every week that someone actually wants to engage with?

Writers Block and ChatGPT To The Rescue!
Yes I admit it, I was in a doldrum for what to post this week. So... I downloaded ChatGPT and gave it a shot. Holy crap Batman! That thing spits out posts like you can not believe! No this is NOT one of them! I now need to learn how to use the artificial intelligence thingy!
Now I have zero idea how come I did not realize this! After all you can not buy a top of the line camera and become Ansel Adams. You can not buy the best fine art printer and expect to be a master at that, just by pushing a button. And I can not go out and buy the best paint and brushes and expect to be Rembrandt!
So Now We Are All Trying To Teach A Computer Program How To Be Human!
Holy shit! That alone is just plain scary! So if we become "successful" at that we've recreated ourselves?!? Yes ChatGPT spit out some text lightning fast. Did it sound like me? Nope! Not even close! Am I "really something?" Not at all! I put my pants on just like everyone else. One leg at a time. However, those that follow me, wish to hear from me. Not a programed computer.

We Still Need The Human Element - With All Of Our Imperfections!
This now becomes a pretty easy topic for me to discuss. Writers block went away. We need the the human element! Badly! Now I don't really need that human element speeding through red lights like they do all over town... but there are many facets of the human element that we absolutely crave!
When you sell one of your prints that human element is absolutely necessary! It's not your pretty picture that people buy... It's mood, story, and passion! Popular images either create emotion, or invoke it! People are buying your story... don't have a story? You will not sell many images. Peter Lik is a Master Photographer, but more importantly he's a genius at marketing story and impact!
When I write a post it's me you'd like to "see" (well at least sometimes I hope!) When we see compelling images I doubt that human element can be successfully created by a computer. All of the AI Images I've seen are too perfect. And there's no passion in them. Yes they're cool... and maybe a great marketing tool, but we'll still need that human element.

If Everyone Was Alike How Boring Would That Be?
If said that for years! If we were all exactly alike that would be the most mundane boring environment possible. I might not agree with all the opinions of others, but I do like their opinions, and I respect the fact that in a free society they should be allowed to have them!
Bottom line one reason for some of this change is the inherent fact of laziness. A lot of the change I've witnessed in my lifetime comes about because we wish to make something "easier"... If I go through some writers block, or a lack of inspiration in my Photography... It's up to me to fix it! The buck stops here! (and many times there weren't enough bucks! ^_^ )
I can see AI helping us to do some heavy lifting... such as complex selections in PhotoShop... But let's not allow machines to do all the work. The millage of others may vary...
